Friday Interior Inspiration

source unknown via Pinterest

I'm loving this spring like weather today and the blooms that have been popping up around town. It's the beginning of a wonderful time of year and I can't wait. I also love bringing the outdoors in, when possible and what's more gorgeous than this insane floral arrangement of Cherry Blossoms in a beautiful ginger jar?! I love it. Have a happy weekend!

For Sale, my dream home

I don't know if you have happened to see the buzz that Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen are selling their Cali estate, but when I see something trending on Facebook, I click it. (Ugh, they really have gotten me with this whole trending thing.)

I immediately fell in love with this house. Holy mother... This house is UNREAL. I died and went to heaven just a little bit. It's rustic but modern and oh so elegant. I think I might need it.. I better start saving so I can afford it at $50 MILLION.

I hope you enjoy drooling over this gorgeousness today.

Ikea ektorp sofa inspiration

I've started to really enjoy my new found love for Bloglovin' (y'all feel free to follow me) and recently saw more inspiration for my favorite little couch that's currently in our living room, the Ektorp from Ikea. At a cool $399 for a sofa with a slip cover (that you can wash), it's a fantastic deal. Not to mention I've had my sofa for about 5 years now and it's help up really well. I'm a believer in this sofa, and until I can grow my paycheck to allow me to have my velvet sofa, this sofa should do just fine.

I need to charge up my camera and take some new pics for y'all but life has been a bit crazy. In the meantime here is some inspiration for the Ektorp sofa in their basic white and how much you can do with a neutral sofa.

Friday Exterior Inspiration

I changed it up on you, did you see that?! Well, the on and off again warm weather here in Raleigh has been joyous. I'm talking when it's been 65 to 80 degrees and sunny not the 42 and cold. BUT when it is warm it makes me excited for all the time we will spend outdoors grilling (with our new grill!!!), socializing, beers, reading and just pure relaxation in the sunshine. We have a tiny patio in the back which I can make do with but we're lacking a bit of privacy and storage, so today's exterior inspiration is a neat way to get storage and privacy! I think it's rather nifty, a little too large scale for our backyard but it's inspiration nonetheless! I hope you all get to enjoy your weekend, it's supposed to be 65! Yay!!

SJP has my heart, but more if she liked orange

If you haven't had the chance, of course you need to see SJP's interview with Vogue and her seriously amazing brownstone. Leaves me wishing I lived in that beautiful city, even if it's freezing there today.

In the mean time, I'm getting very giddy about the pop-up shop over at Furbish today with original paintings by Teil Duncan. Here's a peak of what's live at 10am/est. Y'all snatch you one if you can. I'll be shopping a look today, but I'm going to need to start re-evaluating where to put some art in our new place.
Hope you have an inspiring day!

Cooking with the Dillmans

Last week I was craving something sweet, not just a piece of chocolate, but a good dessert. I knew we didn't have much to make something with but I had Nutella so I began searching for some recipes that I could possibly make, and it led me to a 5-ingredient cookie with sea salt via Ambitious Kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup nutella
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup flour + 1 tablespoon
  • coarse sea salt for sprinkling

That's it!! So we followed the instructions and about 20 minutes later we had gooey nutella goodness. They tasted awesome and I was sick so my taste buds weren't up to par so I'm confident that they'll be even better next time. I've also been craving them since we made them. A little tip, Harris Teeter just happens to have the large jars of Nutella on sale for $5.30 from $8.75, so make yourself some cookies!
(photo via Ambitious Kitchen)
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Combine all ingredients besides salt in a large bowl with electric mixer until well combined. Place dough in freezer for 10 minutes.
  3. After 10 minutes roll dough into approximately 1-inch balls, place on ungreased baking sheet at least two inches apart and bake for 8-10 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes until cookies are set, then very carefully transfer to a wire rack. Generously sprinkle with sea salt.

DIY Easter Wreath

I apologize for being MIA the past week. Between our house warming party and getting sick I had no energy for other things. But it was a beautiful weekend and I had to finally get out of the house yesterday so I romped on over to the Dollar Store (always Dollar Store, not General, etc. I learned my lesson), and picked up 4 bags of 18 plastic eggs and a bag of Easter basket grass for a whopping $5.00. I happened to have an 18" wreath outline lying around that I used and a hot glue gun already so I crafted myself an Easter wreath! Woo!

The project was super easy and it spruces up the front door, which I'm excited about because I've been hunting for a wreath for a while and couldn't find one. Now I have a holiday as an excuse.

I found the idea off Pinterest of course, but also had seen a lot of wreaths similar at Michaels, Target, etc. but figured I could make one just as easy. Although I did burn myself on the glue, I'm happy with the finished product. If you need a tutorial, here you go. Happy crafting!
